Services at Elm Veterinary Group

Emergencies
Our 24-hour emergency service enables you to speak directly to a vet and not an answerphone. 01752 567 567

Our out of hours cover is provided by Plymouth Vets On Call who are based at the Veterinary Hospital in Plymouth. They have a team of dedicated veterinary surgeons and nurses who cover not only our out of hours service but other practices in the Plymouth area.

Home Visits
Although it is more practical for your pet to be seen at the surgery where everything that we may need is available, it may not always be possible for you to transport your pet to the surgery, or in cases of euthanasia you might prefer a home visit. These are always available but are more costly, depending on time and circumstances. If you require a home visit please telephone the surgery as early in the day as possible. We understand that this is not always possible in an emergency situation.

Boarding
We offer a boarding service for any pets other than cats and dogs. If you wish to board with us we would appreciate as much notice as possible.

Fees
All fees are payable at the time of consultation or treatment. As well as cash and cheques we also accept all major credit cards and also have the facility to take Switch payments. OAP discount of 10% on all treatments. The receptionist or vet will be pleased to discuss costs with you prior to treatment. Although veterinary fees are not expensive when compared to human care, major surgery and explorations can result in large veterinary fees for which you may not be prepared. We strongly recommend pet insurance to all our clients: cover starts from as little as £5.00 per month for a cat and £9.00 per month for a dog. Please take a leaflet from reception. If you have any questions one of our pet health counsellors will be pleased to talk to you.

Counter Sales
We stock a wide range of products, from flea controls and worming to carriers, brushes to shampoos. If you have difficulty in finding a particular item for your pet please ask and we will endeavour to obtain it for you.
