Vet Group Emergency vet service Here at Elm Veterinary Group, our Milehouse branch closes at 7p.m. and it is then that our phone line is transferred to our specialised 24 hour cover. Our out of hours cover is provided by Plymouth Vets On Call who are based at the Veterinary Hospital in Plymouth. They have a team of dedicated veterinary surgeons and nurses who cover not only our out of hours service but other practices in the Plymouth area. This partnership that we have with Plymouth Vets On Call and their staff allows us to provide you our customers with a continued high quality service if you find yourself with an emergency situation with your pet. If you are worried about your pet and feel it cannot wait until the following morning, all you have to do is phone our usual number and you will hear a recorded voice advising you about what to do. The voice recording will give you the emergency contact number of The Plymouth Vets On Call service. Once you have phoned The Plymouth Vets On Call, they should advise you appropriately and give you an appointment if required. If you are unsure of how to get there, please ask for directions and you will be guided. Once your pet has been examined and you are satisfied with your pet's care, you will be asked to settle your account directly with The Plymouth Vets On Call service. This is a private transaction with yourself and The Out Of Hours service. Please keep any receipts in the event of having to make an insurance claim. The Plymouth Vets On Call service should refer your pet back to us for any further treatment or check ups, and they will fax us with all the details of the treatment your pet has had. We then put all that history onto our computer system so that we are fully aware of what has happened to your pet, and we can continue to treat and care for him or her. If your pet has had an operation or had to be hospitalised at The Veterinary Hospital, it will be arranged for him or her to be transported when they are fit enough to be transported, and if you are comfortable with them being moved. This high quality Out Of Hours service provides you our customer with a reassuring 24 hour medical care for your pets and you, and we hope that you are happy with this arrangement.
